Expedition 33 Sweeps at the 2025's Gaming Honors
The 43rd yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted on Thursday, and through an impressive show, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 emerged as the top winner. The breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the coveted Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Adding to the studio's success, its gifted actors also garnered individual awards. Jennifer English received Outstanding Lead Performance for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive the studio was honored as Best Development Team. Altogether, Clair Obscur and its makers collected seven awards during the show.
Other notable winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which received Best Audio Design and Best Console Game, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Outstanding Independent Game and Premier PC Title. Notably, the majority of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only 4 awards—Critics Choice, Breakthrough Award, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by experts.
