David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A representative for the firm said: "After careful consideration, and under the leadership of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was reached following an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable involving young women.

The company did not confirm the motivations for this action, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams is one of the UK's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
