Actor Rejects Anti-Vax Stance Following Narrating Controversial Coronavirus Feature
The acclaimed actor has lent his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that questions the legitimacy of vaccines and commends one-time cabinet secretary the political figure.
The Film's Disputed Basis
Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a well-known publication published by Judy Mikovits, who became famous during the pandemic for allegations that the virus was a result of a problematic version of the influenza shot.
The book's co-author, a producer, has penned books with far-right media personality Alex Jones. Heckenlively recently posted hailing Neeson's participation in the film.
A Firm Rebuttal
The team of the actor have released a comment pushing back against claims that he subscribes to anti-vaccine beliefs.
"We all acknowledge that corruption can exist within the drug industry, but that must not be confused with rejection of vaccines," the comment reads. "He is not, and cannot be described as, against vaccines. His long work with the global charity reinforces his consistent support for global immunisation initiatives."
The response noted that the actor did not shape the project's narrative and that concerns about its claims ought to go to the creators.
Major Claims Featured in the Film
As presented, the script spoken by Neeson includes several provocative claims:
- It claims that pro-vaccine voices have called for "unconditional submission" to health authorities.
- It posits that "medical science has become deeply politicised."
- Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown stating, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
- It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, saying they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
- Concerning the immunizations, it references a report that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Past Context and Ongoing Debates
The documentary includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the subject of a formal apology by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.
Last month, the political figure directed the CDC to change its official position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This assertion is echoed in the film, despite a recent study from the WHO reiterating no evidence has been found.
A Past Position of Advocacy
Contrasting the documentary's narrative, Neeson has in the past expressed firm endorsement for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.
Two years ago, he described vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," adding that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest human endeavors in history."
The film finishes with Neeson's voice saying, "This isn't the finish of our story. Rather, it is the start of a different phase."
